Barnes & Noble is Coming to Sunrise Mall

Significant milestone for our community

Brownsville, Texas (4/8/2025) – Sunrise Mall Management is thrilled to announce Barnes & Noble, the nation’s largest retail bookseller, will open a new location in Brownsville at Sunrise Mall. This is a significant addition to the property and comes on the heels of MINISO’s recent opening.

The 27,978 sq. ft. store will occupy the former Wave building. Construction on the store is slated to begin in May with an expected opening fall 2025. Stay tuned for more on grand opening details via sunrisemalltx.com or on our social channels – Facebook or Instagram.

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of significant growth, opening over 60 locations across the country this year. In addition to books, Barnes & Noble is also known for their abundant selection of toys, games and gifts. The Brownsville store will feature a café, providing a cozy spot for customers to relax and enjoy their purchases.
